MysteryMan3D Jr. Member Posts: There are hundreds of HD texture packs, in conjunction with custom cheat files, that can be used to turn No Mercy into a whole new game! But, I want to go a tad further I want to be able to play Starrcade 64 on ANY N64 emulator computer, console, phone without problems such as high-res texture compatibility the textures aren't really HD IMO, they're more in-line with vanilla No Mercycheat usage, etc.
Because I don't know how to hack ROMs, and probably never will know how to hack ROMs, I would like to request a hacker here or a group of hackers here to hardcode the textures, cheat data, and save file that came with the Starrcade 64 mod into the No Mercy ROM. That would solve ALL my problems with trying to get it to work correctly. Sure you'll lose some texture quality in the process, but like I said, the Starrcade textures look pretty much the same as No Mercy, so it won't be a problem for me.
Like the theme songs, titantrons, logos, etc.? And if it can, will someone here be willing to take up the task? If you're thinking of using high-res stuff like that, just forget about it. I am the lord, you all know my name, now. I got it all: cash, money, and fame.
Zoinkity Hero Member Posts: WWF No Mercy most modded? You really aren't familiar with the different N64 hacking communities then Well, you can embed high-resolution textures if: You are willing t subdivide them or write code to automatically region them and are willing to modify every single model's ST to account for the change in textures. The concept of course is that stretching a 20x40 texture across a chest isn't as crisp as spanning the same area with textures.
Although you probably aren't going to be able to stuff a he-def texture into tmem as-is, the easiest workaround is to subdivide it. Otherwise, you could subdivide it into regions via microcode much like Ogre64 did. Texture depth isn't even particularly important as clarity.
Take for instance GoldenEye versus Perfect Dark. GE uses predominantly color images and PD 16 color, yet because they use multiple textures to avoid pixelization PD looks dramatically better. Anyway, if you're just doing texture replacement that's quite easy once the filesystem's been worked out. I'd be willing to give advice or assist with codework you can't do, but I'm not going to take on yet another project.FTC Disclosure: This post or video contains affiliate links, which means I may receive a commission for purchases made through my links.

Download for FREE! Anyway, why am I talking about a pro-wrestling show on a supposedly gaming related content? Well, because this content has something to do with gaming and pro-wrestling as blatantly spoiled in the title. I would assume the wrestler in the animated image was Q. Marshall because he was tagged in the tweet. Did you enjoy this blog post by Kabalyero?

When THQ releases No Mercy this November, dorm rooms and living rooms alike are sure to be packed with mat maniacs looking to take out some aggression in the ring. Use a ladder to flatten your foe, or mix it up Andy Kaufman-style and take on some of the ladies who frequent the circuit.
If you get bored of the Squared Circle, toss your opponent backstage and fight it out behind the scenes in one of three different scenarios. To really get folks roped in, Aki is adding transfer Pack support for compatibility with the GBC version, as well as an option to create your own wrestler if you've exhausted the WWF superstars. Make sure you don't pass up this little gem while waiting for a good wrestling game to come out on DC or PS2.
Asmik has taken just about everything from Wrestlemania and made it better. The character models and animation are some of the best I've seen in a wrestling game, although I got sick of waiting for mo-capped moves to complete before I could interfere during multiplayer games.
The improved double-team moves make pulling off a "3D" with a friend truly rewarding. The simplified control system is still intact, making the game easy to get into, although having more than two characters on-screen seems to affect the control's timing a bit. Over 50 superstars are now packed into the roster and the super-deep create-a-superstar mode boasts an array of options and moves to make anything from jobber to submission fighter.
I was able to make myself, complete with "real" fighting moves, and took out powerhouses Stone Cold and the Rock before slamming into the stone wall that is Al Snow. There is room for improvement: Backstage story lines could be deeper. CPU game and watch the wrestlers stare at each other. Do these take away from the experience? A little, but No Mercy is still the best wrestling game on the N WWF No Mercy, however, looks and plays like a proper follow-up.
Why Fans Still Love ‘WWF No Mercy,’ a 15-Year-Old Wrestling Game
The career mode is more robust, with a heavier--although barely exciting--emphasis on story and backstage alliances. You even earn points you can spend on costumes and moves in a special shopping area. Create-A-Wrestler has been beefed up to Ihe point where you have nearly as many face and body options as in Acclaim's games. You get all this and the same easy-to-wrangle controls. This is a pretty decent sized community of hackers for this game. You name it, they're doing it. Once it's done I can't wait to play it. Jun 17, 16, 0 1,How is it that this decidedly old school brawler still resonates so strongly after all of these years, and who are the people who continue to play it?
After all, unlike the WWE 2K games that are trotted out every year, No Mercy doesn't have any of the trappings of modern, AAA games: there's no online multiplayer, the graphics can be charitably described as a blurry messand there are no commercials starring Arnold Schwarzenegger to promote its existence to the millions of fans who watch Monday Night Raw.
Is this merely nostalgia at work, or did Japanese developer AKI manage to create the perfect wrestling game on the N64 all those years ago? These games define this concept. The gameplay of No Mercy is easy enough to explain: Players assume the role of nearly wrestlers like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H, and then face off against as many as three opponents in the ring simultaneously.
Rather than chip away at a health meter like in traditional fighting games, players in No Mercy instead build up momentum called "Attitude" as they connect basic strikes and bodyslams.
Build up enough momentum and you're able to perform a flashy, high-impact finishing move think Stone Cold Stunner or Tombstone Piledriver that knocks out your opponent, leaving them open for a pinfall.
While that may sound dizzying to anyone unfamiliar with video games or pro wrestling, one of No Mercy's key strengths is its accessibility: because there aren't complicated button combinations to remember, a novice can pick up the controller and immediately be competitive against the CPU or his or her friends.
Compare that to 's WWF WarZone and 's WWF Attitude, which required strict memorization of byzantine button combinations to pull off everything from a hip toss to a hurricanrana. At the same time, No Mercy offers an incredible depth that fans say has yet to be matched by any of the 2K games.
This depth is best exemplified by the create-a-wrestler-option CAW that fans routinely use to create wrestlers as soon as they join Vince McMahon's travelling circus. With this CAW mode, fans can mix and match hundreds upon hundreds of moves, taunts, and outfits to create their ideal wrestler. And thanks to the rise of emulation which lets players boot up old N64 games using nothing more than a smartphone or laptopfans can now easily "mod" No Mercy to include entirely different rosters and arenas with little effort.
Yes, there's a Trump hat to that effect. A couple of times per year, I will clear hours from my weekend schedule to dive into the wonderful world of video game emulation, revisiting the PlayStation, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 games that defined my youth. The Rock.
Why this match? Back in I was the biggest Triple H fan around I liked, and continue to like, bad guys in wrestlingand his seminal opponent back then was The Rock. But unlike the recent 2K games, which can feel more like disparate rounds of Street Fighter IIplaying No Mercy feels more like storyboarding a film. Brendan Greene discusses the early days of the battle royale genre, and the ways its development surprised him.
